Granada is an internationally renowned city, inviting many of the travelers who visit every year to discover the beauty of one of its jewels: The Alhambra. Unfortunately, there is confusing information on the web about the proper method to purchase Alhambra tickets.

Travelers, travel agencies, tourist guides, tour operators…pretty much everyone can purchase their Alhambra tickets in the same way.

You might be a little confused if you have seen ticket offers online with “immediate confirmation,” but I can assure you that the process is the same for everyone.

Access to the official website of The Alhambra is free and the conditions of purchase are the same for everyone.

If you follow these simple steps, you will have your Alhambra tickets in less than 5 minutes!

First of all, keep in mind that The Alhambra is one of the most visited monuments in the world. It is not advisable to leave your ticket purchase for the last minute.

Steps to follow:

1. Visit the official website of The Alhambra: “Patronato de la Alhambra”

2. Select the type of visit that you want to make. There are several types of Alhambra tickets.  Learn the difference so you can choose the best option for you:

• Alhambra General ticket. This is the best-selling ticket because it includes admission to the entire Alhambra complex: Nasrid Palaces, Gardens, and Alcazaba.

• Gardens, Generalife and Alcazaba.  This ticket allows you visit only the parts of the complex specified.  It does not include the Nasrid Palaces.

• Night visit to Nasrid Palaces. This visit to the Nasrid palaces at night is an experience for all five senses.  It is recommended for those who have visited the Alhambra in the daytime and want to experience it in a different way.  If you want to live this experience with a guide you will book the Alhambra Night Tour with me. 

• Night visit to Gardens and Generalife. This ticket, as its name suggests, just allow you to visit the Gardens and the Generalife at night. It does not include the Nasrid Palaces.

• Dobla de Oro General. This option is very practical for those who have more time to get to know Granada. Includes admission to the entire Alhambra complex and the “Hispano-Andalusí” monuments of the oldest quarter of the city, the Albaicín.  We can use it in the Albaicín Walking Tour with me.

• Dobla de Oro at Night. It allows you to combine the Nasrid Palaces at night and the Albaicín monuments in the daytime.

• Alhambra Experiences. This experience includes a night visit to the Nasrid Palaces, and daytime admission to the rest of the Alhambra complex (Gardens and Alcazaba) on the following day.

• Alhambra and Rodríguez Acosta Foundation Combined Tour. This ticket features the entire Alhambra complex and a guided visit to one of the typical “Carmenes Granadinos”.  A Carmen or “karm” is a unique Granada housing type.

• Andalusí Monuments. If you end up staying longer in Granada, you can purchase this ticket and visit the Andalusí monuments of the Albaicín.  We can use this ticket in the Albaicín Walking Tour with me.

4. Enter your contact information: an e-mail address, name, and passport number of each traveler in your party.

5. Choose your payment method.

• Once the payment is confirmed, you will receive an e-mail with the tickets.
• If you have purchased Alhambra General admissions and one of your family members is a child under 12 years old, the parents must bring documentation (i.e. passport) to the ticket center in order to verify the age of the child.  The child will receive free admission.
